Another fabulous event with the Land Rover Club Holland. This time we got to camp three nights in freezing temperatures (see our story about the “Bikkel weekend“). As always, the vibe was good and smiles all around. Continue reading

Harold invited us to the Low Gear Experience in Sevenum on 1st of April. A hobby of planning offroading routes gone awry, he organises this annual family Land Rover day with friends.

Wanting to keep “Rusti” as reliable as possible, we opt for the long route (87 km roadbook), instead of the technical trials that often require winches, ladders and other exciting stuff.

We popped over to the 4×4 terrain in Almere to find out more about the (in)famous Dutch offroading challenge. Continue reading

Probably the most insane thing we've done ... read "Big 5, diesel and dust at Beekse Bergen" to find out why. Below are additional photos of this fab event. Continue reading

Last Friday Rob organised a client event at FurstenForest in Germany. We packed our (video) cameras, and seeing as though Muddy Boots is on sabbatical until the summer, we took the more-than-capable Rusti along. Fortunately she took kindly to the frozen mud paths. Continue reading

It was pretty cold and very misty. You could see only 50 meters on the roads and it pretty much remained that way all day. Our destination was some coördinates in the shade of the Prins Claus fly-over near The Hague, Netherlands. Because of the fog it became a mysterious adventure. We were heading for the "bush". I’m gutted. And not just because it’s the last trial for 2011 … Continue reading

Vix has a go on the third course. You would think she had an idea of how it's done by now! And she does (sort of...) Continue reading

Vix tackles the hill that normally defeats us during the rainy season... Continue reading
Our old Disco (Rusti) has been confined to the highway since we've had him. Deliveries to be done. Stuff to be fetched. Places to be. You know the drill. This weekend we were heading for Fursten Forest anyway, so I decided to take the old rustbucket (a term of affection, obviously) along. Continue reading
How crazy do you have to be, to drive 250 kilometers for a few hours off-roading? Well, if you own a Land Rover you'll certainly understand! Continue reading
The second-last trial of the year in Almere where a night stage adds some extra excitement Continue reading
We arrived considerably under-prepared! A factory-finished Defender 90 (finished in 1985!). No time. No budget.... Shoestring version of a small band of nutters hell-bent on getting to a patch of grass in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near the border of Croatia... Continue reading
I'm clinging onto a thick branch, with jockey-like stumps keeping my feet dry. A great place to get both adventure and extreme classes Continue reading
With yesterday's finish, we were positive about a good final day, in spite of not having time to give Muddy Boots a once-over ... the mad rush that is Croatia Trophy. Continue reading
This is the one we finished! Good fun - kept the car in one piece, navigated and drove well and had some hair-raising moments... Continue reading
We survived stage 7! What a fantastic day. Really long roadbook, 75 kms. From km 20, we started getting into our rythm. Continue reading
Paul and Mark make a (deep) river crossing Continue reading
Thirty second update. And thirty kilometres according to the roadbook. Not very long but therefore expect very heavy going! Due to our brake issues, we didn't manage to start though... Continue reading
